| After "a night in the forest" on the Mahia Beach campground on
Mahia peninsula we head on to Gisborne. Here Cook landed in 1769. Then we drive via Whakatane to Rotorua. Because
of a lack of time we do not go to the East Cape. We need some time to discover the area of Rotorua with its geysirs
and stinking mud pools. We spend another night on a campground with private thermal pools. |

Nach einer "Nacht im Wald" auf dem Campground am Mahia Beach auf
der Mahia Halbinsel fahren wir weiter nach Gisborne. Hier landete Cook 1769. Von dort fahren wir über Whakatane
nach Rotorua. Das East Cape lassen wir mangels Zeit aus. Wir wollen uns dafür mehr Zeit für das mit Geysiren
und brodelnden, nach Schwefel stinkenden Schlammpools übersäte Gebiet rund um Rotorua nehmen. In Rotorua
übernachten wir wieder auf einem Campingplatz mit "Private Thermal Pools". |
