Baum (Agathis australis) ist ca. 2000 Jahre alt, hat eine Höhe von 51,5 m und einen Stammumfang von 13,8 Metern.
Das Fällen dieser Bäume ist heute zum Glück verboten. Es wird allerdings noch immer Kauri-Holz im
Kunsthandwerk verwendet. Zum Beispiel werden Kauri-Uhren hergestellt. |
